Artist Statement Blog #3

As it may seem very self-explanatory, this is a video about the protagonist is trying to confess to his best friend about his love and trying to start a romantic relationship. Later begins to daydream about him already got the message from the girl with a 'yes' respond and start day dreaming about all the happy days and travelling he could have done with his girlfriend, however later on figured him in real life got friendzone by her and filled with disappointment and frustration.

For this project, I intentionally trying to build it upon the idea of romantic comedy. I think this is probably an experience that everybody had before ---- getting friend zoned. The reason why I want to choose this topic is because although this is a 'daydream' video, but I do not think it is a 'Sci-fi' or fantasy video. They just simply not the same. In my opinion, daydreams should be somewhat unrealistic, but also somehow related to the reality world we live in. Using the project as an example, yes it is a daydream that I thought she said yes and we decide to go around the world and do things only couples would. However, it is not realistic because at the end she friendzoned me. This is how I would like to define daydreams, which in short trying to find fantasy based on reality.
